Art Gallery - Straight from the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to the Art of the Prairie Gallery fine original art capturing the heart and grace of the prairie

Our art gallery includes the artwork of:

Louis Copt:
Louis Copt has been painting full-time since 1984. He is a four time winner of the Kansas Artist Postcard Series competition. Louis works with oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor. Although his main emphasis is on landscape painting, he also does portrait and still life work.

Steven Greenwall:
The Art Of the Prairie is pleased to present the landscape pastels of Steven Greenwall. A resident of Kansas, he hopes that his work will evoke a heightened appreciation for the simple beauty found in the intimate spaces of nature.

Lisa Grossman:
Lisa's work focuses on vast stretches of rural eastern Kansas and the Flint Hills. She paints en plein air or on location, on canvases or small wooden panels. Her work explores the relationship between land and sky, distance, light and atmosphere with color and confident brushwork.

Stan Herd:
Stan Herd's earthworks have been published worldwide. His works have reached audiences from Sri Lanka to Moscow and have appeared in numerous publications including Smithsonian, National Geographic, People Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal. Film crews from South America, Japan, and England have captured Herd's unique art for presentation to fascinated television audiences.

Judith Mackey:
We are honored that Judith Mackey has chosen to serve as our Artist in Residence. A diverse, immensely talented artist, her distinctive artwork features landscapes, sunsets, sunrises and the seasonal glory of her home, the Flint Hills.

Harland Schuster:
Harland Schuster is an incredibly talented photographer based in Northern Kansas His photographs feature wonderfully graphic images of the landscapes, agriculture and animals of the prairie.

Debra Sutherland:
Debra Sutherland is an experienced painter in all mediums, but she is primarily known as a watercolorist. Her paintings are in many private and corporate collections including the permanent collection of the World Trade Center in New Orleans.

The Art of the Prairie Gallery is worthy of the big city. Come see us Monday - Saturday 11-4. We think you'll agree that we have reason to be proud of the Art of The Prairie Gallery.
